System Dynamics

Department of Justice and Equality Case Study

Background

The Department of Justice and Equality is a major government department with over 2,000 staff.

In 2000 System Dynamics was selected to work with Pricewaterhouse Coopers to provide a managed service to support a waide range of technologies at the Department.

Following five years under that contract, System Dynamics formed part of a successful consortium, along with IBM, to continue with managed service (from 2006 to present) and to undertake a major development project.

Solution

System Dynamics has provided a FlexITeam service to the Department, delivering the required managed services. This is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team working both onsite and remotely with the Department’s end users.

The FlexITeam approach enables the Department to vary the size of teams, increasing the team when delivering upgrades or new software versions, and reducing as peak workload recedes.

The technologies involved under this contract are Citrix, Windows, Lotus, WebSphere, and all levels of end user devices.

Benefits

The  FlexITeam service provided since 2000 ensures the Department has the flexibility they need for their business. The Department values the levels of knowlesge, experience, and capability that our people bring.

I would like to recognise both the quality of System Dynamics’ work and the professional and flexible manner in which they carried out their duties over the course of this project.

- Kevin Bourke, IBM GBS

I would like to convey the thanks of Minister Ahern for the IT support provided to him. The Minister would like to convey his thanks personally to the Team for the speed of their resolution.

- Kevin Sweeney, IT Operations Manager, Department of Justice and Equality
