Background

Canadian Natural Resources (CNR) operates offshore oil and gas platforms in the North Sea and West Africa from their offices in Aberdeen, Scotland.

In 2009 CNR commenced a project to roll out IBM Maximo to all of their offshore platforms, as well as to onshore facilities, to manage maintenance, materials management, and procurement.

CNR took a strategic decision to extend their corporate investment in SAP Business Objects, and to use this BI tool as the reporting and analytics tool for all reporting over their Maximo application. 

Solution

System Dynamic provided Maximo consulting services for the maintenance areas of the project, with the first platform going live on Maximo in July 2011.

In addition System Dynamics provided a team of Business Objects consultants, who completed requirements analysis, and then the build of the Business Objects reporting solution.
